I was born & raised outside of Philly...grew up in the 60's and early 70's...moved out of my parents' house when I was 19...moved right in with "that boy" (as my mother used to call him). 30 years and two months later, I moved out! Really, that's pretty much how it went. Jobs I have held: Food service worker, Record store employee, legal secretary (both in Philly and here), pill packer (in a factory in Norristown, Pa), book contents editor and copier, subscription filler, condo office assistant (phone call example..."my backyard....is the bathroom....of the dogs"), Sports radio announcer, top 40 announcer, country music announcer, classic hits announcer, gospel music news announcer, rock n roll announcer, talk show host, mountain guide. Oh yeah, mom to 3 kids. Not a job, an adventure.

Born and raised in Northeast Pennsylvania, I began my radio careerwhile in college at WDVE Radio in Pittsburgh. If you ever wondered who couldstay up all night wandering the halls of a radio station doing menial tasks andmaking sure it stayed on the air, that’s me!

I’ve been fortunate to work at great radio stations, even alegendary one, (WMMR in Philadelphia).

NEPA is home, so it’s great to be at such a unique stationas The Mountain.

Hope you enjoy what the Mountain Guides and The MountainCommunity are working toward!

Friends call me Fontaine. Some people are first name folk, and some I suppose are last name folk. I guess I’m a last name guy. I grew up in a town outside of Philadelphia called Media. (No, the irony has never been lost on me). At the age of seven I fell asleep every night listening to the “Boss Jocks “on WFIL. To me everything they said was bigger than life. I soon began talking up records into my father’s real to real deck. At 8 I discovered the FM underground. The sonic textures that unfolded from the three inch speaker of me GE clock radio grabbed me by the lapels and never let go. From there I was hooked. Naturally my mother wanted me to be a minister like my father. My father thought West Point or Culinary School were appropriate destinations. Obviously I resisted. I came to NEPA in 1978 as a student. Sans a six year stretch from 1987-1993 I’ve lived here ever since. The Mountain most closely resembles the FM radio I listened to growing up. That’s why I love working here so much. By the way, thanks for dropping by the ol’ mountain cabin. Good to see you again.

Mountain Guide Facts: Grew up listening to music on the am radio and fell in love with the idea of being a DJ because of the people I heard on WABC and WARM who made being on the air sound like the coolest job on earth. I have always enjoyed the singer/songwriters such as James Taylor, Jimmy Buffet, Harry Chapin, Al Stewart and other performers who told you a story in their songs. As a teenager I collected 45's and would make cassette tapes of my favorite music, I still have those tapes today and some of the 45's, along with some albums but the 8-tracks are long gone. Married for 20 plus years to my lovely wife Terri and we have four children, all boys who grew up listening to JImmy Buffet music. They may have known the words to Let's Get Drunk, before they were five. Big sports fan, New York Mets and Cleveland Browns are my teams and I enjoy painting in my spare time, walls not pictures.

Hometown: Wilkes Barre
First concert that you attended: Doobie Brothers at the Kingston Armory
Favorite album of all time: Jimmy Buffet's Songs You Know By Heart
